    Helping Your Child With Homework

Try to ensure that your child has somewhere quiet to do homework, with no distractions from TV or from brothers and sisters.

clockInsist on your child completing his/her homeworks as early in the evening as possible, rather than leaving them until late when he/she will probably be too tired to concentrate. - Ensure that he/she has all the necessary equipment for completing homeworks: a pencil, a rubber, a ruler, a dictionary and a sharpener. - Encourage your child to pay attention to presentation.

Every homework should begin with a date and title neatly underlined. Younger (or weaker) children will need your guidance with this. Try to assist your child if he/she is in difficulty.

By monitoring your child's homework you will be able to encourage them, and you will keep in touch with their progress. - Please sign their homework each night, and sign their homework diary every week.

Please remember to praise your child for even the smallest success - every step counts.
